Microsoft has released Windows 8 Consumer Preview (Beta) and made it available for free download today. It features many new improvements and can be downloaded using the link at the end of this article. It’s Windows reimagined and reinvented from a solid core of Windows 7 speed and reliability. It’s an all-new touch interface. It’s a new Windows for new devices. And it’s your chance to be one of the first to try it out.

System requirements:
- Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64)
- RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
- HDD: 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
- Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch
- To run Metro style Apps, you need a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 or greater
- To snap apps, you need a screen resolution of at least 1366 x 768

Windows 8 Consumer Preview .ISO images
The first download link contains Windows 8 Consumer Preview Setup which includes an all in one download. Second link contains download links for all available editions of Windows 8 Consumer Preview in .ISO image format. The Consumer Preview of Windows 8 will expire on January 15th, 2013.
The Setup will check your computer for compatibility and inform you if there is anything that needs to be changed. You can also upgrade to Windows 8 Consumer Preview from Windows 7, Vista or XP.
